Heute gibt es ein weiteres, fast vollständig aus Secondhand bestehendes Outfit. Und wie ihr wisst, liegt mir dieses Thema sehr am Herzen. In der heutigen Zeit muss eigentlich keiner von uns noch neue Kleidung kaufen, da noch genug im Umlauf ist, um uns alle zu versorgen. Dies ist nicht nur umweltfreundlicher als Fast-Fashion, sondern auch der einzige Weg den ich gefunden habe, der mit meinen ethische Grundsätzen übereinstimmt. Also schreibe ich diesmal über meine persönlichen allerliebsten "Quellen" für Secondhand-Schätze, lokal sowie online!

In today's times, almost nobody has to rely on buying new clothing, since there is enough old clothing circulating to dress us all. This isn't even more environmentally friendly than Fast-Fashion, but the only way I found to align with my ethics and not support the horrible working conditions of the industry. So today, I want to write about my personal favourite sources and tipps for secondhand- treasures, locally as well as online!
Es fragen mich erstaunlich viele Leute, wo ich denn meine Sachen herbekomme. Auch in Bremen gibt es viel mehr Secondhand-Läden, als die meisten denken. Als ich in diese "Großstadt" gezogen bin, war ich natürlich total aufgeregt, da es hier ja eindeutig mehr Läden geben musste als in dem Dorf, in dem ich aufgewachsen bin. Also tippte ich als ersten Schritt schlichtweg auf Google Maps Suchleiste "Bremen Secondhand" ein und voilá:
Mit der Zeit habe ich aber meine Lieblingsläden gefunden. Zufälligerweise sind das auch die, die zu den Bezahlbaren zählen. Hier meine Top 6:
- in der Innenstadt: Oxfam, Fairkaufhaus Bemerkenswert, Wedderbruuk.
- im Viertel: An- und Verkauf Secondhand am Dobben sowie deren Zweitstelle im Viertel direkt. Es gibt noch viele andere Shops im Viertel, die aber mitunter eher teuer sind.
- in der Neustadt: Secondhand Frauensache(n) und Secondhand für die Frau.
Männerkleidung gibt es Secondhand leider eher weniger, aber das Fairkaufhaus, An- und Verkauf Secondhand und Oxfam haben zumindest ein kleines Angebot. Dafür wären Flohmärkte wohl die beste Lösung!
Du kommt nicht aus Bremen und willst dich über eine andere Stadt erkundigen? Da kann ich nur empfehlen, auch eine Google Maps suche zu starten, loszugehen und die Läden zu durchforsten. Oder Freunde, Bekannte oder völlig Fremde danach zu fragen! Einige Läden findet man nur schwer über die Google-Suche. Außerdem kannst du auch nach dem Begriff "Sozialkaufhaus" schauen. In diesen Läden gibt es oft tolle, sehr alte aber unglaublich günstige Kleidung. Zum Beispiel ist auch mein Lieblings-Secondhandladen in Ostfriesland ein soziales Kaufhaus. Dieses Outfit besteht zum Großteil aus Klamotten aus eben diesem Laden. Da gehe ich fast monatlich einkaufen, wenn ich in der Heimat bin ^^

So translating this bit wouldn't be very useful to you, but what I can do is give you tipps on what shops to look for in your area!When I moved here, I simply typed in "secondhand Bremen" into the google maps search bar and many shops popped up. After a while I visited all of them and found my favourites. If you can't find any stores by searching the term "secondhand" you might try to look for charity shops as well. In Germany, secondhand often is identified with vintage clothing which are very expensive most of the time. My favourite local shop in my hometown is a charity shop, I go shopping there almost everytime I visit my family. That's probably why most of this outfit consists of clothing i found at that place ^^. Another way to buy secondhand locally would be flea markets, especially when you're looking for male clothing which is very rare in thriftshops around here.
Während lokale Läden ideal für die von euch sind, die noch jung sind und nichts im Internet bestellen dürfen; ist das Internet für diejenigen toll, die in einem Ort wohnen, in dem es keine Secondhandläden gibt. Im Internet gibt es so viele Möglichkeiten, Secondhand zu kaufen, dass man sich kaum entscheiden kann.
Auch hier kommt die Auswahl natürlich wieder auf das Budget und den persönlichen Geschmack an. Dies sind meiner Meinung nach die besten Adressen:
While local shops are great for those of you who aren't allowed to order something on the internet yet; the world wide web is awesome if you are living in a place that simply doesn't have any secondhand shops. There are so many way to buy used clothing online that one can barely decide where to look first. But just as with local shops, the platforms you choose depend on your budget and personal style. Here are my faves:
1. Websiten wie Ebay kennt so gut wie jeder Mensch auf dieser Welt - und deshalb ist das Angebot an gebrauchter Kleidung dort auch entsprechend groß und vielfältig. Um die Suche zu erleichtern, sind neben dem richtigen Suchbegriff auch die Filter wichtig. Ohne vorher eine Preisspanne festzulegen und den "gebrauchten" Zustand auszuwählen, fange ich eigentlich nie mit dem Suchen an. Zwar selbst-verständlich, aber wichtig: die Bilder genau nach Mängeln absuchen und bedenken, dass man die Kleidungsstücke in der Regel nicht mehr umtauschen kann. Außerdem ist es auch hier einfacher, inner-halb des eigenen Landes zu suchen, um lange Wartezeiten, teuren Versand oder eventuell Zollgebühren zu vermeiden. Über Ebay habe ich auch meine Schuhe (von einem Mädchen aus den USA) und meinen DDR-Militär-Rucksack bekommen - zwei meiner absoluten Lieblingsteile. Eine weitere Website, mit der ich mich jedoch bisher noch nicht so gut aus-kenne,
ist Etsy. Dort werden viele selbstgemachte, aber auch teils restaurierte vintage Stücke geboten.
2. Apps wie Kleiderkreisel oder Shpock sind auch tolle Mittel, um einfach und schnell etwas Gebrauchtes zu bekommen. Während man auf Shpock alles mögliche findet und die App auch eher auf lokale Geschäfte ausgelegt ist, findet man bei Kleiderkreisel u.a. relativ neue Markenkleidung. Die App Depop hingegen (die für mich aussieht wie Instagram, nur für Kleidung)
ist eher international angesiedelt. Die meisten dieser Online-Plattformen kenne ich, da ich selber viel Kleidung verkaufe und gute Erfahrungen machen konnte.

To make the search for cool clothing a bit easier, the right filters are important. I almost never start searching without setting a price range and checking the "used condition" box. Obvious, but important: always check the pictures for any defects and read the description. I've never seen a seller who took back used clothing they sold, so be aware that you can't return what you've bought. Also, buying something within your country can avoid long waiting-times, high shipping-rates or custom duty.Via Ebay I found my Doc Martens (bought from a girl in the USA) and my DDR-Military backpack - two of my favourite pieces! Another website you could check out is Etsy. I haven't ordered on there yet, but they offer many handmade or vintage pieces.
2. Apps like vinted (the american version of the german app "Kleiderkreisel") or shpock are
also great ways to find secondhand items. But those are mainly about the national level of clothing exchanges. If you want something more international, I'd recommend Depop. I know these platforms because I sold many items on there already and made some really good experiences.
So, das sind erstmal die Adressen, die ich euch mit auf den Weg geben kann. Natürlich gibt es noch viele mehr - also wenn ihr noch andere kennt, immer her damit!

Nun noch kurz zum Rest des Outfits. Zuerst hatte ich nur das Kleid an, aber dann ist mir aufgefallen, wie interessant das Unif-Shirt darunter aussehen würde. Dieses Outfit sieht für mich so aus, als wäre Heidi (falls ihr euch an die Zeichentrickserie noch erinnert) in das Jahr 2017 transportiert worden. Passend dazu habe ich vor einiger Zeit zuhause ein sehr, sehr, sehr altes Heidi-Kinderbuch gefunden. Bin zwar nicht so die Leseratte, aber alte Bücher faszinieren mich einfach.
Last but not least: the rest of the outfit. At first I only put on the dress but noticed how cute it would look with the striped unif-shirt under it. To me, this outfit looks like Heidi (a character from my favourite childhood animated series) has been teleported into the year 2017. Speaking of that girl, a while back I even found a very, very very old Heidi-Book. I'm not that much of a reader, but I'm fascinated by old books like this!
